"As President of the General
Assembly, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Gellionnen. Travelling up
into the hills to get there felt like a real adventure. But once
inside, the welcome was warm and we enjoyed a splendid morning service
together. It was a pleasure to meet so many Unitarians there,
including a couple who are making plans to be married in the Chapel later
this year.
My only regret was that the weather was misty. I am assured that the views from Gellionnen are wonderful, but I cannot vouch for that! So, I was told that I must come again, on a clear day, and see for myself. This I hope to do, not only for the scenery but to lend my support to the maintenance of a remarkable centre for liberal religion in Wales. If you are looking for a free and inquiring religion in a beautiful setting, visit Gellionnen!" John Midgley GA President, 2001-2002 |
