Gellionnen once again enjoyed an inspiring service from Ken Morgan on Sunday, April 15th. However, he brought with him sad news of the death of John Morse. His name will always be remembered in Gellionnen; it is printed on many of our hymn sheets because of his role as Treasurer of the Cymanfa Ganu. We extend our condolences to his family and (many) friends.

As well as being a place of solitude and peace in times of sadness, Gellionnen has had the good fortune of being chosen by many people for their marriage ceremonies. Congratulations to Wendy and Wayne, who were married today (April 7th) in Gellionnen.

Sunday, March 18th was the date of this year's District Cymanfa Ganu, at Wick chapel, where the congregation were guided (and conducted!) by the retiring GA President David Dawson. We enjoyed adding our voices to those of the rest of the District at a very well-attended service (and the equally well-attended tea following the service!) We extend our thanks and appreciation.

Important information regarding restricted access to Gellionnen Chapel (due to the barrier at the top of the track leading to the chapel) can be found here.

WEBSITE NEARS 4,000 VISITORS

The Gellionnen website 'hit counter' is renowned for being inaccurate!  You may visit the website and find that there have been 15 visitors, then return a minute later to find that this has increased to...one!

The hit counter is not very well-behaved, but it helpfully logs the number of website visitors as a list of numbers which I can check.

This means that, every so often, I manually add up this list of numbers, and the total visitor count I arrived at (on 17th August 2004) was an incredible 3,972!

In reality, this huge number is mainly due to multiple visits from the same individuals; however, the number does tell me that a lot of individuals have visited the website (the number is too big to be multiple visits from just a few, regular visitors!)

The reason I'm writing this is because I am still truly amazed at how one little website, made on one little computer, in one little house, has attracted so many from around the world, some of whom have followed their website visit with an actual visit to the chapel.
